I was diagnosed with COPD in 2010—chronic bronchitis with early-stage emphysema. I smoked for at least 25 years and grew up in a household with a parent who smoked.
Living with COPD makes everyday activities challenging, from walking and doing household chores to playing with my grandson. However, I’ve adapted by changing the way I approach tasks and staying as active as possible. I continue to exercise in hopes of maintaining and even improving my lung capacity.
