I lost my mom four years ago to lung cancer. At the time I didn't know the devastating statistics surrounding this disease, especially in women. I also didn't know how quickly the disease can progress if not diagnosed early.

From the time we received my mother's devastated diagnosis of stage 4 lung cancer, we had only three months to share with her.

While it's never easy to receive a cancer diagnosis, it shouldn't happen by chance or late in the game.

I am sharing my family's story because I believe that greater awareness about lung cancer can save lives.
