I am a runner, mostly half marathons and ten-milers. I am a mother of three grown boys. I am a full-time professional. I am a lung cancer survivor.
One year ago this November I ran a Hot chocolate 15k race. One year ago this December I was diagnosed with stage 2 lung cancer with an 11cm tumor in my lower left lobe. I never smoked, ever. One year later I am a survivor.
Surgery removed both the malignant tumor and the lower left lobe of my lung. Chemotherapy followed. Four treatments. I survived.
Today I am running again, shorter distances, but running. I am a survivor.
