I am a 68-year-old adult man who lives with asthma and chronic bronchitis. When I was a child, my parents were heavy smokers and I lived in this environment until I got married at the age of 22.

Of course, in those days, no one knew what the lasting effects of smoking would be. Today, through the efforts of the American Lung Association, we know the effects that smoking can have on our health. Fortunately, I never took up the habit of smoking but I experience breathing difficulties on a daily basis.

It is great to know that the American Lung Association is working tirelessly to bring awareness to the public about the harmful effects of smoking. Through their efforts, I hope that we can continue to make great strides in fighting lung disease and educating the public about the harmful effects of tobacco use.
