Sharon E.

I diagnosed February of 2006 Stage 3A Squamous cell non-small cell lung cancer. I was 43 years of age with three children. And I was terrified.

The tumor was very large and I was told that they were going to treat it aggressively to save my life. If the treatment didn't work, I had thirteen months to live. It was a very hard pill to swallow but, I was willing to fight for my life.

I did radiation 5 days a week and chemo every Friday: on 3, off one, from February through May of 2006. When I finished treatment, I had to have a series of tests to be cleared for surgery because the humor was shrunken by the treatment.

June 2, 2006 I was admitted to the hospital to have a lobectomy done. Thank God, I have been cancer free since. That's ten years and six months. I have the best medical team in the world. I wouldn't trade them in for anything!

I just want everyone to never give up the fight.
