My lung cancer story is about LCNEC - Large Cell Neuro Endrocrine Carcinoma.

I was diagnosed in March 2016. I told my doctor I was leaning to do gardening and I suddenly felt tightness and short of breath.

I asked for a CatScan, He said insurance may not approve it, I asked if he would try and he did.

I was a long time smoker, I started hiding in the backyard with my cousins at 16! Then I worked, my work sold them, I continued to smoke for every reason. Well l will tell you: smoking does cause cancer! Don't ever think not you.

So there I was, 51 with a high grade, rare, fast growing and proliferation tumor. I went into a clinical trial for wedge resection of my upper left lobe. Instead It was more involved and I needed a lobectomy. I went for chemo... four rounds of medication. 5 hours, 3 hours, 3 hours and 1 hr at home for 21 days. Chemo was tough on me. By the fourth round I couldn't even get fluids down. I was terribly nausea and I was in pain.

But here I am to tell you smoking causes cancer! Every time I inhaled the peripheral lung was being destroyed... the cells in the area could not regenerate and became damaged to the point and the tumor took position.

Lung cancer is a fast moving cancer in general, LCNEC is rare and aggressive as it is. I feel blessed to be here 3 years and 8 months now. I lived to see another grandchild, my first granddaughter! I'm blessed and God was with me every step of the way!
