Juanita Mora, M.D., is an allergist/immunologist in Chicago with a strong interest in asthma care and breaking down barriers to asthma care in underserved communities. In 2014, Dr. Mora opened up her own practice, the Chicago Allergy Center, and works with a very diverse community in Chicago. She is a clinic partner with the American Lung Association in Chicago, Illinois.

She received her medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago. She completed an internal medicine and pediatrics residency, as well as an allergy and immunology fellowship at Rush University Medical Center, also in Chicago. Additionally, she received a Masters of Clinical Research degree.

Dr. Mora's work with the American Lung Association deals closely with patient management and relations as well as doing asthma education in the community and to healthcare workers through American Lung Association workshops and health fairs. Her main responsibilities as a clinic partner include referring pediatric patients for in-home allergen assessments, reviewing goals and objectives regarding the treatment of pediatric asthma patients, and team-building approach toward the management of pediatric asthma patients.

Her research on allergic diseases and asthma have been published in the Journal Clinical Immunology and the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology. She has presented on these topics with the Illinois Society of Allergy and Immunology and received an award for her promising research.

Dr. Mora has also worked with Rush University Medical Center as a research co-investigator. Previously, her work focused on pediatric asthma in the Latino population and she also participated in studies on the disassociation between neutrophil FcεR1 expression and serum immunoglobulin E levels in individuals with allergic asthma.
