“Today, we have a high ozone alert. People who have breathing difficulties should stay indoors. People who are aged or disabled should take precautions by staying in an air-conditioned place.”

We have heard these words over and over this summer in Columbus.

All types of gasoline and diesel-burning engines, when added to the C02, greenhouse gases, mercury and arsenic from coal-fired power plants in Ohio, create a visible haze low to the ground. This makes our eyes burn and makes breathing more difficult.

We must find better ways to generate the power we need and rely upon. These alternative ways can be found in the wind, sun, earth and water. We must begin to use them or we will vanish from the world.
