I have had COPD for more than five years. I had to retire early because of this disease. I write newsletters and do presentations for seniors, medical staff, specialists and anyone I met that has or knows someone who has COPD. I found out when I had put together our ancestry book that only one of my relatives had lung disease. Also, I tell everyone lung disease does not always come from smoking. Yes, I smoked but I had many factory jobs. That and growing up I had pneumonia. These factors added to my weakened lungs.
