Max F., OH

My experience with asthma was also severe requiring almost annual hospitalizations. Still, as hard as the asthma was on me, I cannot forget the toll it took on my mom and dad.

My mom struggled to keep the home as free from allergens as possible and made certain every doctor appointment was kept despite our lack of a car. The-almost-always-late-night rush to the emergency room taxed not only my parents financially but emotionally as well.

For me, sleeping in oxygen tents and taking treatments requiring filtered air, I knew the luxury of just being able to take a breath. That people would deliberately be fouling up the air, or worse yet lobbying to keep the air as dirty as possible was a personal insult, and assault on my right to breathe.
