Rex G., PA

At almost two and a half years old, Rex has already been rushed to the emergency room several times. Suffering from asthma since he was a baby, Rex has faced medical treatments most kids can't imagine, including taking steroids and having tubes put in his ears to help him breathe.

Rex's mom, Tracy, monitors air quality alerts and can predict when Rex will have a tough day of breathing. It has been especially difficult when Rex plays with his two brothers. Tracy remembers a particular afternoon when Rex had a severe breathing episode and yet all he wanted to do was keep playing with his older brothers. Tracy is extremely frustrated by what her son has had to go through, especially at such a young age. She believes that cleaner air will help Rex live a healthier life and be able to play with his older brothers without trouble. As asthma is one of the most common chronic disorders, and currently affects an estimated 7.1 million children under 18 years, it is a necessity that Congress takes the right step and protects our children and the Clean Air Act.
