Kathryn Blake, PharmD is Director and Principal Research Scientist, Center for Pharmacogenomics and Translational Research at Nemours. She received her BS in Zoology from the University of North Carolina and her PharmD degree from the University of Florida. She completed a residency and fellowship in pulmonary pharmacotherapy at the University of Florida and is board certified in Pharmacotherapy. She is principal investigator for the Nemours Children's Health System of the American Lung Association's Airways Clinical Research Centers (ACRC) with John Lima, PharmD as co-principal investigator and on AsthmaNet, a nationwide clinical research network created by the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI) in 2009. She was awarded a NHLBI K23 mentored training award ("Pharmacogenetics of Beta2-Agonists in Asthma") and R01 ("Use of Mobile Devices and the Internet to Streamline an Asthma Clinical Trial") that are directly related to projects conducted by the ACRC. Her research interests are the use of mobile technology, pharmacogenomics, racial differences in drug response, and asthma in sickle cell disease. She is vice-chair of the Nemours Children’s Health System Institutional Review Board. She serves on the FDA Pulmonary and Allergy Drugs Advisory Committee, the NAEPP Coordinating Committee, and the Northeast Advisory Board for the American Lung Association in of Florida. She has been an investigator on over 100 clinical studies in asthma, allergy, and cystic fibrosis.
